Looking to help out with the Thame Carnival?
Contact [email protected] if you can help with any of these :
We are currently looking for an artistic individual or group who would like to get involved in decorating the vehicle on which United Vibe will be travelling. The individual or group need to be able to prepare the decoration in the weeks leading up to the 15th June and then decorate the vehicle on either Friday 14th or Saturday 15th June ( in time for a 12 noon parade ).
We will need 30 marshalls to help with ensuring the safety of the public during the parade. If you can help on the day for this 2 hour period please contact us.
We also still need someone who will send the parade on its way. The job involves setting out stakes in Elms Park to show where each of the float participants should meet up. Then at 12 noon usher the Elms Park floats out of Elms Park and merge into the vehicular floats coming from Station Yard. The order of the parade is already pre-arranged.
HELP SAVE THE PLANET
This year the Thame Carnival is aiming to reduce the plastic use using four methods.
The bar will be allowing refills of plastic cups to decrease the amount of plastic used.
To help us reduce the amount of plastic used we would like to offer the opportunity for attendees to the carnival to bring their own plates, water bottles and cutlery. All food stalls will be happy to place any food bought onto your own plates.
Stainless steel water bottles will be purchasable for those that are unable to bring their own water bottles and water bottles can be refilled at the water refilling station.
All food stalls will be, where possible, replacing their packaging with bio-degradable products such as paper or wood. A number of the food stalls at the festival are already plastic free, helping to save the environment.
Any recyclable plastics remaining will be recycled along side any other recyclable products
